OCTA recommends extending NCR's GCQ until end-July

The OCTA Research group recommends extending the general community quarantine (GCQ) status for Metro Manila and nearby provinces until the end of July due to low vaccination coverage and the threat of the Delta variant.

On Thursday, NTF spokesperson Restituto Padilla indicated that GCQ is likely to be extended in the National Capital Region for the rest of July.

Experts from OCTA also urged the government to maintain GCQ in Metro Manila until the end of July as the region is not yet ready for modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).
