NCR case growth rate falls to 3 percent: OCTA

The National Capital Region (NCR) is experiencing a decrease in its COVID-19 case growth rate according to OCTA Research.

On Saturday, Dr. Guido David reported that NCR's growth rate fell to 3% from 5% the previous day and the reproduction number decreased to 3.22 based on January 11 data.

Despite this positive trend, David noted that late reports could affect the data.

As of Friday, OCTA stated that NCR and six cities—Baguio, Naga, Angeles, Santiago, Dagupan, and Lucena—are at critical risk for COVID-19 with high ADARs.

On Thursday, OCTA reported that NCR's outbreak was still 'severe' with an ADAR of 111.80%, and 56% of new cases were from the region.
