Ilocos provinces under Alert Level 3 due to rising COVID cases

Ilocos Norte, Pangasinan, and La Union will be under Alert Level 3 starting January 14 due to rising COVID-19 cases.

As of January 12, the Ilocos region has 647 new cases and 2,286 active cases out of a total of 96,506 confirmed cases.

The DOH reported that Pangasinan has the highest number of active cases at 896, followed by Ilocos Norte with 586 and La Union with 433.

Face-to-face classes for basic education, contact sports, funfairs, indoor entertainment, gaming establishments, and gatherings not from the same household are prohibited under Alert Level 3 guidelines.

The public is reminded to follow health protocols and intrazonal and interzonal travels are allowed but subject to local government unit guidelines.
