Most active Covid-19 cases in Soccsksargen and Baguio are mild or asymptomatic

Despite spikes in coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, most active cases in Soccsksargen and Baguio are mild or asymptomatic.

In Soccsksargen, out of the total 1,432 active cases, 34.1% are asymptomatic and 58.3% have mild symptoms.

DOH-12 attributes the low rate of severe cases to increasing vaccination rates in the region.

Similarly, in Baguio, more than half of the 8,307 active cases are either asymptomatic or experiencing mild symptoms.

The DOH-CAR reports that 5,684 out of 8,307 active cases are mild or asymptomatic with only 18 critical cases and 2,529 for verification.

DOH-CAR attributes the low rate of severe cases to high vaccination rates in the region, with 1,016,122 individuals having received complete doses and 132,990 receiving booster shots.
