Metro Manila mayors maintain Alert Level 3

Metro Manila mayors have decided to maintain Alert Level 3 for the National Capital Region, citing current restrictions and slight increase in healthcare utilization rate despite rising COVID-19 cases.

The mayors noted that hospital bed utilization is only slightly increasing with ICU beds at 52% on Sunday and ward beds at 65%. The region's HCUR remains below the threshold for Alert Level 4.

MMDA chair Benhur Abalos said the decision was made after a meeting with the IATF, emphasizing that current restrictions against unvaccinated individuals are sufficient.
