881 stranded Pinoy seafarers from US return home

As of Wednesday, April 1, 881 stranded Filipino seafarers from various cruise ships in the US due to COVID-19 have returned home.

Of these, 445 are from Norwegian Cruises Dawn and Encore, while 436 are from MV Magica and MV Favolosa.

The DFA coordinated with multiple government agencies for their repatriation and quarantine.

Additionally, on Saturday, 370 Filipino seafarers from three cruise liners in Italy also returned home.

President Duterte announced that at least 4,600 Filipinos abroad are expected to return over the next two weeks due to the ongoing crisis.
