Malacaōang: Metro Manila gets 4M more vaccine doses

Malacaōang confirmed that Metro Manila will receive four million additional COVID-19 vaccine doses starting August 6, when a two-week enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) begins.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque stated that if these doses are administered, the capital region would reach around 45% vaccination coverage, nearing the government's target of 'population protection'.

The DOH allowed Metro Manila LGUs to vaccinate any willing individual during ECQ, though this depends on vaccine supply.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire emphasized that while anyone can get vaccinated, priority should still be given to the most vulnerable groups.

The national government will deliver 6.5 million doses of vaccines to NCR Plus provinces and an additional 2.5 million doses to Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, and Bulacan.
