Missing Slovak tourist found dead in Boracay chapel

The body of missing Slovak national Michaela Mickova, 23, was discovered at an abandoned hotel chapel in Boracay on Wednesday.

Two days after being reported missing on March 10, Mickova's decomposing half-naked body showed signs of sexual abuse and a stab wound to the stomach.

Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, director of Police Regional Office 6, said Mickova's disappearance is an isolated case and authorities are working to solve it quickly.

A person of interest has been arrested in connection with drug-related charges; however, police continue to look for other individuals last seen with Mickova.

Local officials have reinforced security measures including increased patrols and surveillance, urging the community to cooperate fully with investigators.

Stakeholders on Boracay have offered a reward of up to P500,000 for information leading to the arrest of those involved in Mickova's murder.
