Rep Haresco offers P100K reward for info on Slovakian tourist rape-murder

Aklan 2nd district Rep. Teodorico Haresco Jr. has offered a P100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the rape and murder of Slovakian tourist Michaela Mickova in Boracay.

Haresco emphasized that the brutal crime has tarnished the reputation of Boracay and dealt a significant blow to the local tourism industry.

The congressman met with law enforcement officials over the weekend, during which Malay police took custody of two persons of interest while nine witnesses provided statements.

Mickova's body was discovered inside an abandoned chapel in Barangay Balabag, Malay town, two days after she was reported missing by a Filipina friend who was attending her wedding.

Haresco pledged to work closely with local officials and national agencies to prevent such incidents from recurring and ensure the safety of tourists.

The Western Visayas police confirmed that Mickova appeared to have been sexually abused and suffered blunt force trauma to the head.

Authorities stressed that Boracay remains safe despite the incident, urging continued cooperation in the investigation.
