Metro Manila COVID-19 positivity rate at 25.9%

The COVID-19 positivity rate in Metro Manila increased to 25.9% as of May 16, up from 24.2% the previous week.

OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David noted that while this is slightly lower than the peak of 26.1% recorded on May 15, the trend in the next few days will indicate where it's headed.

David also highlighted that Metro Manila's positivity rate remains five times higher than the WHO’s ideal threshold of 5%. High rates were also reported in several provinces across Luzon.
