Speaker urges House committees to assess nCoV's impact on PH tourism

Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano urged the House Committees on Tourism and Economic Affairs to coordinate with the Department of Tourism to assess the short- and medium-term effects of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) on the country's tourism industry.

Cayetano emphasized the need for measures to cushion the impact of the virus, acknowledging the necessity of flight cancellations and travel bans from affected areas in China.

The House is willing to work with the tourism sector to ensure that tourism growth will not be hampered in the coming months.
