Metro Manila mayors propose 3 quarantine options after May 15

Metro Manila mayors have proposed three quarantine options for after May 15: extending the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) by two weeks, transitioning to a general community quarantine (GCQ), or implementing a modified GCQ with localized ECQ measures.

The Metro Manila Council decided not to recommend one specific option but will present all three scenarios to the national government’s coronavirus policy task force and comply with their decision.

Areas with high COVID-19 cases would remain under ECQ, while areas with low cases could be placed under GCQ in a modified scenario.
