Quezon City allows tricycles in MECQ

Quezon City released its MECQ guidelines on May 15, allowing tricycles as the only form of public transportation.

The guidelines mirror national policies but give mayors leeway for local specifics.

DOTr urged LGUs to develop facilities for safer biking in areas under MECQ starting May 16.

While most public transport is banned in MECQ areas, tricycle operations are up to the discretion of local governments and DILG.
