Marcos, Imee lead senatorial rally in Iloilo with 35K supporters

Preparations are underway for the kickoff rally of the administration-backed Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas on Tuesday, February 12, 2024, at the Centennial Arena in Ilocos Norte, where President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the campaign kickoff for his senatorial candidates.

The senatorial slate held a second leg campaign rally at Gaisano Iloilo City Center with President Marcos and Senator Imee Marcos expected to attend on Thursday, February 13, where an estimated 35,000 supporters turned up.

Iloilo, known as the 'heart of the Philippines' and one of the top 10 vote-rich provinces, is considered a stronghold for former Vice President Leni Robredo having secured landslide wins in both 2016 and 2022 elections.

The stage and other technical equipment have been set up while posters of the 12 senatorial candidates have been placed in various parts of the venue.

Navotas City lone district Rep. Toby Tiangco, campaign manager of Alyansa, welcomed Senator Marcos's participation at the Iloilo rally.
