Aquino, Pangilinan launch senatorial bid with Mass, rally

Former senators Bam Aquino and Francis 'Kiko' Pangilinan launched their senatorial campaign Tuesday with a Mass at the University of the Philippines-Diliman, followed by a People's Campaign Kickoff Rally in Dasmariñas City Arena.

Despite trailing in recent Pulse Asia survey results, both candidates remain optimistic about gaining traction over the next few months, likening their current position to the second quarter of a basketball game where they aim to recover from an initial setback.

Aquino emphasized that he and Pangilinan are running as independents accountable only to the people, focusing on issues such as food prices, educational reforms, and job creation.

Pangilinan highlighted reaching out to supporters with different viewpoints and underscored the importance of expanding their coalition without alienating others, encouraging them to replicate efforts from the 2022 elections in the upcoming polls.

Former Vice President Leni Robredo, Senator Leila de Lima, human rights lawyer Chel Diokno, and Sharon Cuneta joined Aquino and Pangilinan at various campaign events, reinforcing their commitment to change for the betterment of the country.
