Ferdie exits PAR, enhances southwest monsoon

Tropical Depression Ferdie exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Monday morning and is expected to make landfall in China by Tuesday.

Ferdie developed into a tropical depression at 8 pm Sunday, just hours after Tropical Storm Enteng left PAR, enhancing the southwest monsoon or hanging habagat.

As of Sunday night, Ferdie was located northwest of Dagupan City with maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h and gustiness up to 70 km/h, moving northeast at 20 km/h.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal number 1 has been raised in several areas including parts of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, and northern Zambales.
