Ferdie leaves PH but rains persist in parts of Luzon

Tropical depression Ferdie left the Philippines on Monday morning but will continue to bring monsoon rains over parts of Luzon.

PAGASA warned that residents in Ilocos Region, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, Batanes, Cagayan, Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and the rest of Cordilleras and Central Luzon should be prepared for possible floods and landslides.

Ferdie is expected to intensify into a tropical storm before weakening into a low-pressure area after landfall in southeastern China.

Strong breeze-force to near gale-force winds are forecast over Ilocos Region, CAR, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA due to the combined effects of Ferdie and enhanced southwest monsoon.
