Tropical depression 'Gener' weakens into LPA, no impact to PH

Tropical depression 'Gener' entered the Philippine area of responsibility on Thursday but weakened into a low-pressure area (LPA) by 2 p.m.

The LPA was located 830 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes and is not expected to affect any part of the country.

PAGASA forecasts scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), with isolated rain showers elsewhere.

Light to moderate winds are expected over Luzon and eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao, while light winds and slight seas will prevail elsewhere.
