LPA, ITCZ bring rains, thunderstorms over PH

PAGASA forecasts scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, parts of Luzon, and the Visayas due to a low pressure area (LPA) embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

Cloudy skies with isolated rains are expected in Batanes and Babuyan Islands due to northeasterly surface windflow.

Heavy rainfall warnings were issued for Palawan and Oriental Mindoro, while flash floods and landslides are possible in affected areas.

PAGASA also monitors a tropical depression outside the Philippine area of responsibility with maximum winds of 45 km/h.

The LPA is expected to bring moderate to strong northeast winds over Northern and Central Luzon, resulting in rough coastal waters.
