LPA exits PAR as tropical depression; ITCZ causes rain

A low pressure area (LPA) exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and developed into a tropical depression on Monday morning.

The tropical depression is now 460 kilometers west northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, moving away from PAR at 15 km/h.

Meanwhile, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) continues to cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao due to its presence.

On Sunday, the LPA was located east of Kalayaan Islands, Palawan, embedded along the ITCZ, leading to scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in affected regions.

PAGASA warned that flash floods and landslides are possible due to these weather systems.
