Quinta leaves PAR Tuesday after five landfalls

Typhoon Quinta (Molave) made landfall five times in different parts of Bicol and Mindoro on Monday, October 26, causing destruction and flooding.

Sturdy trees fell on houses in Dangay, Roxas, Oriental Mindoro, while chest-high floods submerged homes in Legazpi, Albay.

Quinta maintained its strength with maximum sustained winds of 125 km/h and gustiness up to 150 km/h as it moved westward over the Mindoro Strait.

The typhoon is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility Tuesday morning but may re-intensify within 24-48 hours, bringing moderate to heavy rains over several regions.
