Laguna ECQ extended until Aug 20

Laguna will remain under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) until August 20, as announced by presidential spokesperson Harry Roque on Saturday.

Originally scheduled to de-escalate from ECQ to modified community quarantine (MECQ) starting August 16, the decision was made upon recommendation of the Department of Interior and Local Government after consultation with Laguna's local government.

The extension aims to maximize quarantine effects, slow down case surges, stop variant spread, and improve health system capacity in the area.
