Bulacan under MECQ Aug. 16-31

Bulacan will be under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) with localized lockdowns from Aug. 16 to 31 due to rising COVID-19 cases, including seven Delta variant cases.

Governor Daniel Fernando advised constituents to prepare for tighter restrictions compared to the current general community quarantine (GCQ) with heightened measures until Aug. 15.

Fernando said consultations with mayors led to a decision against a hard lockdown to avoid sacrificing businesses and livelihoods, while emphasizing efforts to lower case numbers through earlier directives.
