La Salle beats UP, ends their undefeated streak

La Salle Green Archers defeated the previously undefeated UP Fighting Maroons, 68-56, in a highly charged UAAP Season 87 men's basketball game on Sunday, October 6.

Joshua David led La Salle with 14 points and hit four crucial three-pointers late in the fourth quarter to secure the victory, emphasizing that he enjoys playing against UP.

UP mounted a strong comeback in the third quarter but La Salle responded with a decisive run to seal their win, ending UP's undefeated streak.

The game was briefly interrupted by a near-scuffle between both coaching staffs late in the third quarter, which was quickly resolved without further incident.

Kevin Quiambao emphasized that after losing to UE earlier in the season, La Salle initiated adjustments and stuck to their system, leading to three consecutive wins.

With this victory, La Salle improved to a 6-1 record and secured the top seed for the first round, while UP remains in second place despite facing challenges without its full roster.
