Topex Robinson, Reyland Torres face UAAP 'stern warning' over spitting

La Salle coach Topex Robinson and University of the Philippines guard Reyland Torres are set to face a 'stern warning' from the UAAP after an alleged in-game spitting incident during their recent match on October 6.

Sources told Inquirer Sports that both parties provided accounts and written statements during separate meetings with a subcommittee of the league's board of managing directors, represented by six other UAAP schools, on Thursday, October 10.

Robinson denied intentionally spitting at Torres and apologized for his actions, admitting he shouted back at the player when Torres allegedly mouthed an expletive towards him.

Torres claimed that Robinson spat at him while he passed in front of the La Salle bench and provided photographic evidence to support his claim, though referees did not listen to his complaint.

The UAAP Board of Managing Directors is set to finalize its decision on Saturday afternoon after hearing both sides.
