La Salle beats Ateneo, maintains perfect record

Defending champion La Salle maintained their perfect record in UAAP Season 87 with a decisive 74-61 victory over rival Ateneo on Sunday, September 15, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Kevin Quiambao led La Salle with a near triple-double of 13 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists, while Mike Phillips added a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds, emphasizing that his strength comes from both his faith and teammates.

La Salle dominated Ateneo in the second half, particularly in the third quarter where they held Ateneo to just three points, showcasing their defensive prowess.

Despite the win, coach Topex Robinson maintains that La Salle is still far from where they want to be if they look to complete a repeat of their title run in Season 86, highlighting the importance of collective effort and discipline within the team.
