INC rally draws 2.8M, stays neutral in Marcos-Duterte feud

Sagip Party-list Representative Rodante Marcoleta stated that the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) remains neutral in the political conflict between President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte.

The INC's National Rally for Peace, held at various locations including the Quirino Grandstand in Manila on January 13, attracted around 2.8 million participants instead of the previously estimated one million attendees.

INC spokesperson Edwil Zabala clarified that while the rally discouraged officials from supporting impeachment cases against Vice President Duterte, the INC neither invited specific politicians nor promised any endorsements for candidates who attended.

Among those in attendance were senators Ronald Dela Rosa and Christopher 'Bong' Go, as well as Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna and former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso.

The Philippine National Police deployed personnel across multiple sites to ensure public safety at the rally, while government agencies involved in essential services continued operations during the event.
