Iloilo City shifts to ECQ starting May 1

Iloilo City will comply with the recommendation to shift from general community quarantine (GCQ) to enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) starting May 1.

The decision was based on the number of cases and the city's capacity to provide medical services, as announced by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.

Mayor Jerry Treñas said the ECQ will give the local government more time to produce masks for distribution to barangays.

Prior to the announcement, the city had already prepared for GCQ and planned food assistance programs for May.
