IATF finalizing GCQ guidelines, discussing salon/barber shop operations

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) is finalizing guidelines for a general community quarantine (GCQ) set to begin on May 1 in low-risk areas.

Spox Harry Roque said the IATF will discuss whether barbershops and salons can operate under GCQ due to difficulties maintaining social distancing.

Roque noted that unless longer scissors are developed, it would be impossible to maintain social distance in such establishments.
