Iloilo City mayor urges DOH to aid rural hospitals

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas is urging the DOH to provide more personnel and equipment for rural hospitals in Western Visayas.

Treñas appealed to the IATF on Friday to review the city's ECQ status, noting that despite having full hospitals, Iloilo City has fewer cases than neighboring provinces under MECQ.

The mayor highlighted that Iloilo City serves as a referral center for patients from Aklan and Iloilo province, which are swamping its hospitals with more patients than local residents.
