PH logs 37K new Covid-19 cases, 34K recoveries

The Philippines logged 37,070 new coronavirus cases and 34,000 recoveries on Monday.

Active cases rose to 290,938 while total recoveries reached 2,898,507, representing 89.4% of all recorded infections since the pandemic began in March 2020.

The majority of new cases (97%) occurred within the past two weeks, with the National Capital Region reporting the highest number at 36%.

Calabarzon and Central Luzon followed with 25% and 12%, respectively.

The death toll increased by 23 to a total of 52,929.
