IATF recommends face shields for particular alert level

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) has recommended to President Rodrigo Duterte to require face shields at a particular alert level.

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año stated that the IATF's recommendation is pending approval from the president and declined to provide further details.

President Duterte is expected to make an announcement regarding the face shield policy on Monday, November 15.

Harry Roque, presidential spokesperson, confirmed that while a decision has been made by the IATF, it awaits President Duterte’s final approval.

Several local executives, including Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, have already removed the face shield requirement due to declining COVID-19 cases.
