Palace: Respect Duterte's face shield policy

Malacaōang urged all local government units (LGUs) on Tuesday to respect President Rodrigo Duterte's existing policy on face shield usage.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque cautioned that a new face shield policy by any LGU might prompt the public to disregard Duterte's directive to continue wearing them in enclosed spaces.

Manila Mayor Francisco 'Isko Moreno' Domagoso signed an executive order limiting mandatory use of face shields to hospital settings, despite Malacaōang's stance against it.

Roque emphasized that local chief executives must observe the right process and wait for IATF-EID's final decision approved by Duterte.
