NCR, Laguna, Bataan shift to MECQ until Aug 31

The National Capital Region (NCR), Laguna, and Bataan will be placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) from Aug. 21 to Aug. 31.

PNP Chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said police personnel are prepared to help implement granular lockdowns and ensure strict adherence to public health safety protocols.

Vaccine czar Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. emphasized the need for stringent implementation of MECQ rules, noting that reverting between different quarantine classifications is unsustainable.
