House generates PHP75M for Paeng relief

The House of Representatives has generated around PHP75 million worth of cash and in-kind donations for its ongoing relief drive for Severe Tropical Storm Paeng victims, as of Nov. 1.

Cash donations and pledges reached PHP49.2 million while in-kind donations such as food items, blankets, and toiletries stood at PHP26 million.

Speaker Martin Romualdez thanked those who contributed to the relief efforts and vowed to bring aid to affected families as soon as possible.

The fund drive was led by Romualdez along with other House committee chairs and party-list representatives.

On Oct. 30, the House pledged PHP35 million in assistance to victims of Paeng, generated through donations and pledges.
