PAGASA warns scattered rain, thunderstorms over Mindanao, Visayas, Palawan; flash floods possible

PAGASA forecasts cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms affecting Mindanao, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, and parts of southern Luzon due to the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) on Sunday.

Parts of Metro Manila, MIMAROPA, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, and Bataan will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA warns that flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas during heavy rains, urging residents to take necessary precautions as the Southwest Monsoon continues into Sunday.

Weather specialists are monitoring cloud cluster formations over western Palawan and eastern Mindanao for potential low pressure area development in coming days.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters are expected in the western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Elsewhere in the country, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail.
