Philippines under rain alert due to ITCZ

The entire Philippines will experience rain showers on Thursday due to the influence of two prevailing weather systems, according to PAGASA.

Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, and Davao Occidental will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), potentially leading to flash floods or landslides.

Moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall is expected in these areas, increasing the risk of flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon, as well as Bicol Region, will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

Residents are advised to take precautions against potential flash floods or landslides in the affected areas.

The ITCZ effects are expected to continue until Friday, with no tropical cyclones forecasted to form or enter the Philippine area of responsibility in the near term.
