Philippines sets single-day record with 710K COVID-19 jabs

The Philippines set a single-day vaccination record by administering 710,482 doses against the coronavirus on Thursday, Aug 5.

This marks an increase from the previous record of 702,013 doses administered on August 3.

As of Friday, Aug 6, a total of 23,199,187 vaccine doses have been given out nationwide, with 10,705,190 being second doses.

Deputy Chief Implementer Vince Dizon emphasized the need to sustain this high vaccination rate ahead of the reimposition of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila from August 6 to August 20.
