Gov't expects 85% of NCR residents to be fully vaxxed by October

By October, the government expects at least 85% of eligible NCR residents to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

As of early September, about 52.3% or five million NCR residents have completed their vaccine doses while 81.72% or eight million have received the first dose.

NTF chief Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. said the target is to fully vaccinate 80% in NCR by the end of September, and key cities can raise vaccination rates to 50%.

MMDA chairperson Benhur Abalos stated that NCR may achieve vaccinating 90% of its target recipients by December 26.

Abalos noted that over 7.1 million people in NCR are fully vaccinated, which is about 72.65% of the target recipients, and over 8.6 million are waiting for their second dose.
