NCR shows slow decline in COVID-19 cases

The National Capital Region (NCR) is showing a slow downward trend in reported COVID-19 cases with a 28% decrease from the previous week.

As of September 27 to October 3, the average daily reported cases in NCR decreased to 3,121 compared to 4,320 for the period of September 20 to 26.

The OCTA Research group also noted that NCR's reproduction number has dropped to 0.81 from 0.84 and its average daily attack rate is at 22.34, placing it in a moderate risk category based on covidactnow metrics.

Additionally, the positivity rate in NCR decreased to 16%. The OCTA Research Group also reported that all regions in the NCR Plus 8 (Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Cavite, Rizal, Laguna, Batangas, Cebu City and Davao City) are showing a downward trend with reproduction numbers below the critical level of 1.4.
