PH boosts COVID-19 testing capacity to 12K daily

The Philippines has increased its daily COVID-19 testing capacity to 12,000 tests per day.

This increase is attributed to the establishment of more swabbing and laboratory testing centers across the country.

Currently, there are 22 licensed laboratories and four mega swabbing centers in Metro Manila.

The government aims to further boost this capacity to 30,000 tests by May 30.

Over 700 state workers have volunteered as encoders, barcoders, and swabbers for the testing efforts.

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea has mandated all government agencies to contribute personnel to these centers.
