Gov't moves local officials to A1.5 vaccine priority

The government has moved local officials to the A1 priority list for COVID-19 vaccines due to their high exposure to the virus.

Mayors and governors have been placed under the A1.5 category, which is just below medical workers who are in the A1 group.

Previously categorized as part of the A4 group, these local leaders now join healthcare workers in implementing localized lockdowns and vaccination programs.

The country has around 1,634 provincial governors and city/municipal mayors eligible for this new priority status.

Healthcare workers, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities are currently being vaccinated simultaneously.
