Senators urge DOF, BIR to extend tax filing deadline

Senator Bong Go and other senators are urging the Department of Finance (DOF) and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) to extend the deadline for filing income tax returns due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III highlighted that not everyone has internet access, making it difficult for some to file their taxes during the quarantine.

Go emphasized the need for compassion towards Filipinos who may lose livelihoods due to business closures and called on DOF and BIR to extend the tax deadline.
