SEC extends report deadline for COVID-19 affected firms

The SEC has extended the deadline for submission of annual and quarterly financial reports for companies affected by COVID-19.

Firms with only domestic operations must file their reports by June 30, while those with both domestic and foreign operations have until June 30 or 60 days after travel restrictions are lifted, whichever is later.

The extension aims to help corporations impacted by the pandemic's challenges such as travel restrictions and business suspensions.

Companies seeking additional time must submit a written request five days before their original deadline along with sworn certifications from company officials and external auditors.
