BIR extends tax amnesty deadline to May 23

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has extended the deadline for the tax amnesty on delinquencies from April 23 to May 23 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Taxpayers with internal revenue tax liabilities covering taxable year 2017 and prior years can now avail themselves of the tax amnesty until May 23, as approved by Finance Secretary Carlos G. Dominguez III.

The extension aims to provide relief to taxpayers affected by business disruptions caused by the lockdown.
