Gilas Pilipinas joins 2nd Doha International Cup, faces Qatar, Lebanon, Egypt

Gilas Pilipinas is set to participate in the 2nd Doha International Cup from February 15 to 17, 2025, in Doha, Qatar as part of its preparations for the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers and the FIBA Asia Cup in August.

The Philippine men's basketball team will face national teams from Qatar, Lebanon, and Egypt at the University of Qatar starting on February 15.

Gilas Pilipinas' roster includes June Mar Fajardo, Justin Brownlee, Chris Newsome, Calvin Oftana, CJ Perez, Dwight Ramos, Carl Tamayo, Scottie Thompson, Mason Amos, Kevin Quiambao, AJ Edu, Jamie Malonzo, and Troy Rosario, who is a national team returnee.

Coach Tim Cone aims to reintegrate AJ Edu and Jamie Malonzo into the system while Kai Sotto is out due to an ACL injury.

The team will also face Chinese Taipei on February 20 and New Zealand on February 23 in the third window of the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers.
