Gilas Pilipinas suffers lopsided loss to Egypt in Doha

Gilas Pilipinas suffered a significant 86-55 loss against Egypt in the Doha International Cup on Monday (Manila time), following their earlier defeat to Lebanon.

Justin Brownlee led Gilas with 18 points but struggled without support as no other player reached double digits, contributing to their poor performance.

Egypt capitalized on its size advantage and strong shooting, particularly in the second quarter where they outscored Gilas 21-9 to dominate the game.

Gilas continued to struggle offensively in the fourth quarter with only 10 points, exacerbating their deficit from a 39-28 halftime score.

The team will now prepare for upcoming FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers against Chinese Taipei on February 20 and New Zealand on February 23.
