Thailand hires Kugimiya to train gymnasts, PH considers foreign coaches for Yulo

Thailand has hired Carlos Yulo's former Japanese mentor, Munehiro Kugimiya, to train their national men's gymnastics team.

Kugimiya arrived in Thailand on August 12 and will remain until August 21 to provide guidance and share his expertise with the Thai athletes.

Meanwhile, Gymnastics Association of the Philippines President Cynthia Carrion is considering several foreign coaches for Carlos Yulo and other aspiring Filipino gymnasts ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Carrion mentioned potential coaches from Bulgaria, Australia, and Japan, including Tomoharu Sano who was previously injured and returned home.

Yulo will have input in selecting his new coach as he aims to secure more medals following his two golds at the Paris Olympics.
