Manila honors Carlos Yulo with hero's welcome

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna honored Carlos Edriel Yulo during a hero's welcome ceremony at city hall on Monday for his achievements at the Paris Olympics.

Lacuna expressed hope that more young Manileños and Filipinos will be inspired by Yulo's success to excel in their chosen fields.

Yulo, who hails from Manila and is considered 'Anak ng Maynila' (Son of Manila), received a PHP2 million cash incentive and the approved resolution declaring August 4 every year as 'Carlos Yulo Day'.

The local government rolled out the red carpet for Yulo at City Hall, where he was greeted by city hall employees, a marching band, and golden confetti.

Yulo thanked everyone for their recognition and support during his short program at Bulwagan, signing autographs and accommodating requests for pictures.
