Florita moves away from PH, all wind signals lifted

Severe Tropical Storm Florita (Ma-on) moved away from the Philippines on Wednesday, August 24, with all wind signals lifted.

Despite the lifting of wind signals, gusty conditions may still be experienced in coastal and mountainous areas of Mimaropa, Cavite, Quezon, Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Aurora, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley.

PAGASA forecasts Florita to move west-northwestward over the West Philippine Sea towards southern China, where it is expected to make landfall on Thursday morning or early afternoon.

The Southwest Monsoon may continue to bring rains over western sections of Luzon in the next 24 hours.
